Mozart Music Effect and Research
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Austrian composer born in Salzburg, January 27, 1756, died in Vienna on 05 December 1791.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the most emblematic composers of classical music. Equipped with exceptional musical gifts, he composed at the age of 6 years. His father, renowned musician, he made a tour of European capitals: the astonishing prodigy, the tour lasts nine years! Employed as organist by Count Colloredo of Salzburg, Mozart feels trapped in a framework set by the commands and eventually resigned.
Based in Vienna with his wife, Constanze Weber, the composer is experiencing good times, ranging from concerts and compositions in the audience cheered. Affected by the death of his father in 1787, he composed the dark opera ‘Don Giovanni’ is not understood by the Viennese public. The last years of his life are those of his finest compositions, including “Cosi fan tutte ‘(1790) and’ The Magic Flute ‘(1791) but his wife’s health is weakening and the couple is in debt. Mozart, whose genius will never be truly recognized in his lifetime, died in the quasi-indifference to 35 years, leaving a ‘Requiem’ incomplete, that some see as a real musical testament.
Researchers Israelis seem to have made an odd discovery … To listen to Mozart every day to promote their premature baby grow!
For their experiment, the researchers listen for thirty minutes of Mozart’s compositions in a group of twenty preterm infants. The next day, they measured the energy expenditure of these babies, no music this time. By listening to Mozart and premature spend 10% less energy, which would help them grow and develop.
The researchers also explain that Mozart’s music seems more beneficial than other composers, because repeating the main melody is more marked. Listening to him, would also have premature heart beat and breathing slower.
On their tiny heads, newborns have a stereo headset and their small hands move to the rhythm of the music. A hospital in Kosice-Saca, in eastern Slovakia, babies listen to Mozart in the early hours of life.
The goal is not to produce a generation of brilliant musicians, but to stimulate mental and physical functions of infants with the benefits of music therapy.
“Childbirth is a very difficult process and for each baby represents an enormous stress,” said AFP Mrs. Slavka Viragova, chief physician of the maternity hospital in Kosice-Saca, who introduced the draft .
“In the belly of the mother, the child listens to the heartbeat of his mother, who represents for him a source of protection and positive emotions. For the baby remembers her mother in the period immediately following childbirth when it is not with her, we make him listen to music, “she said.
In a room with walls and windows decorated with drawings of animals from fairy tales, a dozen infants in jersey are placed in small beds, one beside the other in two rows. They listen to music and sleep quietly.
From time to time they open their eyes, move, yawn and grimace. Next door is another room with incubators for infants born prematurely or with health problems. They also listen to music.
“We’ve noticed that a well-selected music therapy helps to improve congestion of bodies in infants born prematurely thus stabilizing their breathing. In general, music therapy helps a baby to increase weight, get rid of stress and to cope with the pain, “says Viragova.
Mother of two son of 15 and 12 years, Slavka Viragova has applied this method to his own children. It made them listen to Mozart’s compositions. “It was noted that Mozart’s music has a very good effect on the development of IQ,” says she. At the hospital, infants listen five or six times a day a piece of ten minutes of a classic work of Mozart, a composition for piano by Richard Clayderman, a mix of jungle sounds or of relaxing music.
“The music is very gentle and quiet intensity is between 30 and 50 decibels that can compare to the sound of a normal walking or opening a door,” said the chief doctor. Most often, the music is played throughout the piece and also reduces stress nurses often overwhelmed with 20 to 30 babies are permanently present in the maternity ward. Helmets are used to create the baby a more quiet atmosphere and relaxing.
Some babies throughout the day with their mothers when they feel strong enough after childbirth. These rooms are equipped with small stereos. It is therefore possible to make their own CDs and cassettes.
This project is unique in Slovakia and Central Europe, started two years ago and was very well received by the women delivered. “It is certainly a very good idea and the influence on the baby is very positive,” said Livia Oliarova, 30, whose second son, Adrian, is born in the maternity Kosice-Saca. “We’ll probably continue to listen to music even at home,” she said.
The hospital is now a little victim of his fame. And some women are willing to travel hundreds of miles to give birth in this maternity hospital, just east of Slovakia.
